That's really nice Drew. I agree, I'd have it put up on a pedestal also.

Very nice job on the mount. I've been making a pedestal on a plaque for my last couple because I agree that the nose down view doesn't work well on some racks. If only the cleaning process were easier. $150 for that good of a job is quite reasonable.

Very nice Euro Drew. This is my Euro from last year. I had the same concerns about the nose down and my taxidermist suggested this plaque. It can be set on a table or mounted on the wall.

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated!

Some good looking mounts people are posting. And I like that dual purpose plaque. Lots of options out there.

So something I learned during this process...Euro and Skull mounts are considered different.

Euro mounts cut the skull above the upper jaw line so you do not have the upper teeth. And they usually replace the skull with a synthetic skull like what Longbow Joe shows in his post.

True Skull mounts cut the skull below the upper jaw so the teeth are intact, and the real skull is used.

Subtle difference but something to take in to consideration when discussing mounts with the taxidermist. I wanted the teeth and real skull so went with the skull mount.

Maybe you taxerdermist is weird but around here a euro mount is a complete skull and not cut anywhere. The bottom jaw is not cut but is usually removed. I make euro mounts as a hobby for myself and friends and I never cut my the skull unless the person needed or wanted me too. I'm thinking your taxerdermist is just using to words that mean the same thing for his two options.
