Doemaster, I appreciate your help. Was not trying to argue with anybody. Nothing but good input from everybody so far on this site. Thanks for your input

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
Doemaster, the second pic is more like what mine looked like. String at proper brace height was almost 1.5" off of the bumpers

I own a grizzly and put the Reds on, and have had no issues, 1/4 inch from the string is where it's set.
Re: Frustration with Excalibur

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
Okay that refreshed my memory .
Yes the ones for the slanted back riser do take a longer red .
To make it easier to put them in when you get them . Either cock the bow with the string or your stringer . This will give you lots of room to maneuver them into place without the string in the way . Remember to put the safety on though .

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
Thanks a bunch all. Excal tech told me about the #7008 reds. My frustration stems from the total lack of readily available info for the Grizzly. So much of the packaging and info states "for all Matrix models" when almost nothing that fits all Matrix models fits or is designed for the Matrix Grizzly. That and a total lack of good info that should be included in the box for this bow frustrates the h**l out of me. If I can save someone else the hassle then I will feel like I have made a contribution to a good experience.

Scotty_X2, that looks like a sweet set-up. Definitely going to contact Boo about those

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
Boo does carry the custom Danny Miller bumpers which are lighter in weight than the REDS and slightly less costly, I use them myself.

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
When they came out with the fits all model REDS the Grizzly/Cub and Micro did not exist. They did fit all at the time. Things change and old packaging can be wrong as you found out. Research, then buy.....farm3rbrian wrote:Thanks a bunch all. Excal tech told me about the #7008 reds. My frustration stems from the total lack of readily available info for the Grizzly. Re: Frustration with Excalibur
The Grizzly uses the standard matrix string. It's not true that no Matrix accessories fit it. There were lots of discussions on the forum about the fact that the Micro + Grizzly and 310 needed their own bumpers. True, their packaging should of updated though.

Re: Frustration with Excalibur
Never stick your hands in between the riser and string when any crossbow is cocked!!! Sorry Doe Master,,, but this is like suggesting if you put the safety on, it's ok to work on a loaded rifle,,,,,, always keep your hands out of harms way and never work on a cocked bow, remove the string!Doe Master wrote:Okay that refreshed my memory .

It may take a little more time, but it could save your limbs,,,,, and I don't mean the limbs on the bow!
We have to remember there are many here looking for help that are new to crossbows and owe it to all to put safety as the number one priority!!!
