I've had my 405 for 2 years and must have close to a 1000 shots.
Never had an issue. Many many hours cocked in both warm and frigid temperatures while hunting.
No issues with my 355 yet. If it ever has an issue, I'll get it fixed and forget about it. There is no product made today by any manufacturer that will last forever without needing service and/or replacement parts. That is reality.
Excalibur does not make immortal crossbows that never need service or replacement parts, who or what gave people that impression?
I've had a M405 since spring of 2014. Had one of the limbs splinter badly after about 100 shots, which was around May of 2014. After getting new limbs, I did have one small splinter that I was able to sand out which happened this past fall. Other than that, no problems.

Yup. Didn't put 2 and 2 together at first. My limb issue with the micro 335 was when it was all stock. Now with the Munch mounts no problems. Nada zip zero problems. Good catch! Problem solved!
over two years with my 380 blackout without limb issues. I did have a claw on the cocking aid break as I cocked the bow the first hunting season but nothing happened to the limbs when it happened.
putting a deposit on a micro 355 when able at the local dealer........

I wasn't as lucky with the 405, small splinter on right limb, screws coming loose, not to mention it was my 405 which brought to light the trigger issue which was responsible for the recall.
Mine was part of that initial trigger recall as well. In a strange way I should thank you. I feel the trigger replacement was far superior to the original...so much so that the planned trigger upgrade was scrubbed. The limbs are original and holding up fine so far, with one partial dry fire . I can't say for sure how many shots I've taken, lost count at around 250, and sent a good many more down range since. This is my first xbow and I thank the good folks here for all the guidance!
