I hope you guys don't kick me out for this question, but how do you members think about the Skorpyd crossbow?
Reliability / accuracy / etc....all opinions and experiences are welcome...

Re: Question
I owned an RDT 125, RDT 165 and Vent 150. I now own just the Vent 150.
They are a very long stroke but fast for the draw weight bow. They are accurate, a bit picky on arrow shafts and very quiet/smooth on the shot.
They are definitely good for very long range target shooting. They are one of the few bows capable of delivering enough power for Firenocks blunt force trama set up called the Traumahawk.
They are well balanced but a bit on the heavy side, which makes them good on the bench. But not to heavy for off hand shooting, infact they are good for that because of the higher weight and good balance. It's just a bit of a pain to carry when you are used to an Excalibur.
These are really high end bows. Titanium fasteners, Barnsdale limbs and a great trigger. It's easy to buy a Scorpyd and spend $2,000.00 after decking it out.
Jim Kempf is the owner. He wants to bow right, so warranty is good in that respect but many people have complained. I have had zero issues with warranty but from what I read, the Scorpyd warranty can be pretty tight.

I had a Vent 150 and loved it. Fast, accurate, quiet to shoot plus all the other fine qualities BOO mentioned.Troubleshooter wrote:I hope you guys don't kick me out for this question, but how do you members think about the Skorpyd crossbow?

However....after humping it around through the woods for Spring Turkey Season those fine qualities quickly got put on the classifieds along with her "heavier" traits

Re: Question
Thanks for the information Boo and Stormdragon!
Skorpyd has now also smaller bows (if i'm right) so the weight must be down also.
The strange thing is: last week i was looking for problems / issues with the Skorpyd bow to see how reliable it is - but i have found just a few.
Is this bow such a good bow, or was my searching just bad...

Re: Question
They had their run of disasters, just like every other bow company. Limbs problems are a common denominator when it comes to bow. Being a super small company, Jim gets a handle on things pretty quick.Troubleshooter wrote:Thanks for the information Boo and Stormdragon!

Yep. A tad smaller but only a few ounces less weight. I looked at all them on SSA website just before I pulled the trigger on another Matrix today. Saved over $1000 also.

Re: Question
I would suggest that as you get into the higher end stuff, be it guns, bows or cars, the reviews are going to get fewer and further between.
Everybody owns the lower priced or entry level stuff. Try finding a user reviews on Bentley Flying Spur automobile..
My point being - if the masses can't readily afford the product the odds of finding dozens of reviews are slim.

Re: Question
If you got an answer from Boo you can take it to the bank. Tells it like it is.
Re: Question
I own two Scorpyds, a Ventilator 100 and a Velocity 100....I can shoot a 400 grain arrow 346 FPS with 100 lb limbs...That is simply amazing....the trigger feels comparable to the TT trigger. everything is first class. It is an absolute joy to shoot especially with a bench...It balances great. so smooth and quiet... Having said all that, if you like to shoot offhand, nothing to me feels so right as the Micro. and if you have to crawl on your belly after mule deer or go through real thick brush you will miss your Excal.
