Micro 315 vs 335

Post by Mo-hunter »

The add for the new Micro 315 states that it takes less effort to cock. Since it is only 10 lbs less than the 335, would you really notice any difference in cocking them. I have an ibex and am looking at the micros or the matrix 330. I have not found any in my area to try out.
Thanks for your opinion

The way I see it, if you have reasonable fitness and no back problems I doubt that you will notice much difference between the two with only 10 pounds of force separating the 315 and 335 Micro.

The Micros are a good bit more compact than the Matrix 330 but the 330 is a lot easier to cock. I didn't mind cocking the 335 until I cocked it about 30 times one day letting some Boy Scouts shoot it, my back and shoulders were sore the next day and the day after. The Micros are more balanced also in my opinion.

This. My vote goes to the 335. Plus it comes with REDS and cheeck piece.

So if that is the case wouldn't the micro 355 be even better since it will only be 10lbs more than the 335

I have not cocked a 355 and question seems to be in area of how hard is it to cock it..335 is not easy and I assume 315 is easy or better to cock and just guess 355 may be harder than 335?personelly I do not want harder pulling bow for just 10 lbs but with reds/cheekpiece I like 335 over 315 with a little harder to pull...

If anyone can comfortably cock the Micro 335 then the 355 is not an issue. If the Micro 335 is approaching your limit, I would either go to the gym, get a crank or stick with the 335 because you will notice that last 1/2".

Great info so if I was him I would get 335 UNLESS you have health issue and do not want crank...I guess you could buy cheekpiece/reds for 315..The 335 is tough one to get used too it does get better as you LEARN to pull it but first impression for non crossbow owner is most likely WOW .....

The m380 is the same pull weight as the micro 315!!! This is a no brain-er for me!...and you can use "normal" size arrows, comfortably with the 380. 3" less width is not much in my book...and not NEAR enough to justify loosing all that speed and trajectory if you are going to pull 260lbs+. And with the 380 you get REDS, full cammo, and the guardian.

Yes, it is a serious pull to get her cocked  when you first start shooting the bows! But after a while it is no problem.

I like the Matrix line...the M355 pull is just 240lbs...40lbs less than the micro doing same speed!!! And again with REAL arrows!! not quills that stick out over your stirrup.

Good observation however one key point is power stroke for the 380 is 13.1". The power stroke for the Micros is 10". That extra 3" for us smaller guys is a big deal.

Very true...On cold mornings I sometimes take a break at the guardian and re-group and re-position my body to give that last hard pull to get the 380 to full cock. But lbs. are lbs. and you might as well get the most benefits for your efforts.
