Stringin Aid

Post by elknut »

How important is the plastic tube on the stringing aid. My string broke on my stringing aid and got a new string but it didn't come with the plastic sheath. Do i need it?

The question I have and hopefully the Excalibur Marketing Dude can explain its purpose / why Excalibur designed the stringing aid with it included.
I always suspected rightly or wrongly that it had to do with making it easier on your hands / fingers when using it .

The purpose of the plastic tube is to give you something to throw away.

That was the original intent, but I don't know anyone that uses a stringing aid without a rope cocker.
