Excalibur Bulldog 400 and NAP spitfire edge 100 grain

Post by mchurch »

I wanted to see if they would blow open from my matrix bulldog 400 without bands. I had 3 shots with the very same head that were all bullseye at 30 yards using a rest. The fourth shot flew over the target and I never found the arrow. The arrow was an 18 inch SSAS zombie slayer with aluminum flat nock, blazers vanes with right helical and 110 grain brass inserts. I like the heads from what I saw. I would like to shoot them at 60 yards in the future

If you were shooting toward the east I will keep an eye out for your arrow in case it makes it here to Michigan... what color were the vanes?....

I would e mail them n see if the edge is crossbow recomended sometimes they just change the packaging sometimes they change the force of the latch . We have only used the crossbow versions. Its a shame they fly like a field point for me.I just used a crossbow max for my turkey left a devastating your not going anywere hole

I called and spoke to tech support and he said up to 380 fps on the edge. I also saw on the net where one guy shot one edge head 4 times from a 425 fps scorpyd with zero problems. Another guy from a 400 fps stryker crossbow with zero problems. The thing that concerns me more than high fps is the huge hit that these heads take when the trigger is pulled in these super high poundage recurves.

Dont forget the scorpy has wheels they dont have that crazy instant zap as n excalibur recurve does at launch .i know you like em but i would try a crossbow max n see im sure thell be ok . Or you can extra band them i never liked "extra" banding but guys do i all the time
