There is actually nothing stopping you from importing a scope into Canada. It's the US that will not allow them to be exported. Their export permit is what all the fuss is about. I imported scopes plenty of times before Obama made it a no go.Bullzeye wrote:As already stated, you cannot compare prices here in Canada compared to the U.S, in Canada you must make sure you buy some lube before going to the store to buy a scope, because you know your gonna have to bend over and take it up the wazoo.
Korth Group ltd.is the only Canadian Leupold importer, so they can do as they please on price since they have no other competition.
As already mentioned, it's illegal to purchase a scope in the US and bring it to Canada without an import license, so again they have us by the balls.
Sure, many people take a chance and bring them over from the US illegally, but keep in mind that all Leupold scopes have a serial number, and should your Leupold scope ever needs servicing under warranty, and it was not purchased from an authorized Korth dealer, you will have to pay for the repair, Korth will not honor your warranty.

Lol your 100% right, I see now I wrote import license, your right, it's the US export license that's the issue. Thanks for fixin my error
That's where all the legal problems start, people stop at the Canadian border on their way to the US, and ask them about bringing back a scope, or ammo or anything firearm related, and are told it's all good, where in fact it's an American export law they would be breaking.

Re: Heads up Crossbones scope
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading on here that since the Crossbones is a crossbow specific scope that it is not subject to the same export restrictions that the US has imposed on riflescopes.
However, since Leupold has one licenced CAN distributor, (Korth Group), no US retailer is ever going to ship it to Canada anyway.
