The M-330 is the 4x4 of the Matrix line. You will be very happy with one I am sure. I recommend your strings for it by the way. :D

I thought you really liked Captain Morgan? Out of curiosity, what is making you like the Matrix 330 that the Micro 335 isn't providing?

I'm not Vixenmaster but can give you an opinion of my own. I have a 380,400 & a 405. These are still my 1st choices for hunting.
I've shot a 200# Vortex a lot. Really like it. Will eventually have one. I've set up a Micro 335 for a friend and shot it 100+ times trying various broadheads and getting it sighted in (using an XB75 /Quills/Boltcutters -shot best). I was underwhelmed at 50 & 60 yds compared to the Vortex and 380 & 405. Hard to cock!!
The M330 seemed a lot like the Vortex: easy to cock, smooth, gentle, and much more accurate at 50 & 60 yds. I like the looks of the Micro 335/355 better.
My next, if ever Xbow will be one or more of the following: Vortex, M330,Bullpup 355 (or hopefully whatever they downgrade the speed rating to).
If all my hunting were limited to 50 yds max, I'd get a M330 as my only Xbow likely. It isn't .

I have never shot a deer over 30 yards with a bow or crossbow, but my 330 is dead on at 60 yards. I honestly think the 330 is the best of the Matrix line for a comfortable, easy to cock and shoot crossbow for whitetail deer or black bear hunting for an average size seasoned person. I realize there are a lot of younger and bigger guys out there that have no problem with the bigger Matrix line.

I still love Captain Morgan, but he is becomin a sight in n Hunt model fer me. I have gotten to the pt that rope cockin him 5 times is hurtin. Yup i have a C2 but its no fun nor enjoyment fer practice sessions. It will do fer Huntin, so i need a model that lets me rope cock it 15-25 times a practice session. I love to shoot n up until this yr i have always shot 1000-3000 times a yr. Now i have only shot about 300 this yr :(

I had the M355 loved it and gave it to my youngest son so I bought the M330 I didnt like the short pull..it was like i just got started pulling and it was cocked so I gave it to my oldest son. Now i have the M350le and i love it as much as the 355. For just target shooting i fall back on the vixen or one of my 175lb bows

Yup they would work well. Trouble bein fer me is, i don't care fer those smf models. The Vixen are great but seems everyone that owns one wants a new model price or they ain't sellin. The 330 would be very good i reckon as i have short arms at 27"

Mike-

One think is for certain- shortly after you plop down your hard earned $$ for a new bow, a long-awaited package will arrive with Awshuck's Y25 in it.

Very true, i may have to make a trip to SW Ar. to visit that guy. He keeps tellin me on the ph. that the Lawyer has to Probate the Will into Court. He won't tell who the Lawyer is fer me to call n talk to him. The Court says no Probate has been filed in the case n its almost a yr now

The 310 is about as easy to cock as the Vixen due to the length of pull and is great target shooting out to 50 yards. Its nothing for me to shoot 50+ arrows an outing with the 310. With the 330 it would wear me down after about 20 shots... But then I have also had hernia and back surgeries. I usually shoot about 20 arrows with the 310, then shoot a few with the 330 and go back to the 310 again. It helps me keep the 330 sighted in for hunting season, and shooting the 310 builds up my confidence and accuracy with repetition. Gonna be another hot weekend and only good for sitting around in the shade and shooting crossbow

Just too many good bows to pick from!

I've had two separate hernia surgeries about a decade ago. I'm on the doorstep of turning 50 and the Matrix 355 doesn't bother me at all (5'10", 175lb). But I've never gone past a dozen or two shots at a time, only because it shoots so well I don't need to keep practicing hitting the bullseye every time.

I have the 350 SE and the 330. If I had to buy one and only one after owning both the 350 SE would be bought. The cocking difference is minimal and you gain some speed and it cost less and I love the camo. I just came in from shooting and sighting in a Vortex XBR using the speed dial and the turrets also. I was using a rope cocker. Probably sent 35/50 shots down range and not really tired at all. I am dialed in with both though for 20-30-40. Will have to mow the field before I can try out to 50.
