If you plan on putting your string on your stirrup...... i bet you would loose a ton of speed
Otherwise no sir, the stirrup does not propel your arrow.

When he did his tests before and after, with the complete Dr. Stirrup system there was only 1fps loss in speed.

That is with Gaston's limb dampers installed.

Not trying to thread hi jack but how much of an improvement on cocking and noise reduction would the Dr Stirrup kit offer me

I've found that the cocking effort seems less : both feet used, slightly different angle of pull, cocking rope allowing all fingers on the handle, all allow for easier cocking as well as keeping the foot out of the arrow path when uncocking. I expect leaving an arrow in the xbow when uncocking is about like a pilot forgetting to lower the gear on landing : only happens once.
Yes, it's quieter than the tuning fork of a stock stirrup though a well wrapped stirrup is quiet.

Userd as a reference for another subject, this is my wrapped stirrup that was replaced by the DrStirrup stirrup. Both are shown.

For me, sound went from a twang to more of a thwack. I think it is definitely a worth while purchase.

From what Gaston said, with his stirrup and rope cocker, you will be able to draw the bow with less effort.

I don't know for sure because I don't have mine mounted yet. :D :D
