Insert questions...

Post by FlyingAce »

I have heard and read a little bit about inserts, but if someone could explain them to me it would make life much easier. What are they, are they necessary, and what is their overall purpose (would assume balance).

Jim when they talk about inserts the are talking about a Alum. part that is glued into your arrow or bolt. on one end it is the insert that your field tip or broadhead screws in to. On a bolt you also have one in the end your string hits/pushes/sets against. Look at a xbow bolt and you will see it glued in each end. They can be Alum, or brass.

V-Bow arrows are a little different as the use one insert in the front and normally a nock on the rear.
