Hey guys,
Quick question regarding the flat inserts that are standard on the diablo bolts for the matrix 380. I noticed after my last shooting session, the insert on one of the bolts had come out of the bolt about 1/2''. I simply pushed it back in and wasn't able to get it back out or move it by just trying with my fingers, though at the time I didn't really give it much thought.
I was wondering, is this normal? Next time this happens, should I throw some loctite on there before pushing it back in? I also noticed a chip on one of the inserts. Can somebody direct me to a place where I can buy replacements.
Also, best way to actually remove the inserts; Is there a tool I'll need or just a trick of the trade I should know?
Thanks

First things first, the plastic nock is what you are referring too. The insert is typically the one on front of shaft where target tip or broadheads goes. Though the aluminum inserts do get used in rear of shaft in some cases.
The first thing we need to check is your shaft of any arrow you see the rear plastic nock coming out of - reason for this is they will normally only back out when you have hit something harder than target material. Wood, tree, rocks etc. So first thing is to take shaft and inspect it for any damage or cracks up front. You can take each end of shaft in both hands and attempt to bend it - make it flex if and damage you cannot see it will creak and crack if flexed - don't be afraid when doing this - try to bend hell out of it, they are tough and won't bend much but enough to ensure good or bad. Now if all good push nock back in. Some glue them but that makes it difficult to replace damaged ones. I pull them out with my teeth! You can use pliers or even buy a specific pair of pliers with jaws designed to do this. Any good archery store should have the plastic nocks and pliers.
