my deer, but not when i am there?

Post by DEAD-EYE »

Well, I have been trying to get a deer at the back of my farm all season, there is lots of signs of a huge buck, srapes, rubs and i have three stands in the area and have spend lots of time in the area but i have never seeen him,, during rifle on the Thrusday,, when it was raining, and foggy my dad saw him for 300+ but couldn't get a clear shot. And tonight, on another raining foggy day, a put MORELAND in one of the stands at the back, and i went to one of the others and luck would have it, a doe came within 70 yards of Moreland and 10 minutes later my, ,,,, my big buck came walking in and hot on the trail of the doe,, but never with in bow range,, he figures it wasa wide 10 with good size tines,, and he was more then excited,,, and as you my have guess i am too, and can't wait to get into the stand..
hunters will do anything for a... buck!!!

Let me tell you guys, he was a big 'un. It was sweet watching him come in hot on the trail of that doe, nose to the ground tail in the air, and the best thing, he had no clue I was there.

Wow, I envy you guys on the deer you get to see and hunt.
Around here, south west Wyoming, I've seen exactly one mature buck in the five years I've hunted here. It was afternoon of the last day of the season, and I didn't take him. He was so magnificent I wanted him to be in the gene pool.
This coming season I plan to horse into the mountains for bow hunting. Hopefully my mature deer drout will be over. :D
Anyway, congrats on the really great deer, and keep those photos and stories coming in.
