Re: limb savers ?...........
I would scrape it with a semi sharp blade before using acetone or alcohol.

Got any plastic razor blades lying around? A plastic debt card in your wallet that you can use for a scraper?
Some adhesives come right off using hot water and dish soap (or a non-abrasive hand cleaner product like mechanics use) on a soft rag, so try one of those first. If that fails I'd start with a mild solvent like WD-40 as mentioned, first on a soft rag then carefully scraping with a plastic blade. Naphtha may work but it is a bit stronger solvent... 99% rubbing alcohol may work the best, but if there is a coating on the limbs you run the risk of softening (and fading) the finish. Be quick about it if you try using the stronger solvents.
Sneak up on it with the milder stuff first and do no harm... and good luck!

Re: limb savers ?...........
probly easier to pick up another set and replace the missing one. as far as chemicals anything that will remove the glue will take off the camo finish. maybe gentle heat with a hair dryer and rub with your thumb if its just minor sticky stuff. any pics? if you need a replacement set i might have a new set or 2 in my collection.

Goo Gone or methyhydrate might work.

Try zippo lighter fluid. It usually takes most sticky glue residue off.

Lighter fluid = Naphtha. Some brands include an additive for scent, but most are 100% Naphtha. Buy a gallon at the local hardware if you are a smoker and save mega-$$$!ThackMan wrote:Try zippo lighter fluid. It usually takes most sticky glue residue off.
It is a good light solvent but be careful putting it on coatings or finishes.

Re: limb savers ?...........
wd 40 has solvents might eat the camo.
Re: limb savers ?...........
I had a couple on an older recurve bow that I bought from a buddy. I pried the plastic disc off with a knife blade and was left with that sticky circle. I worried it off by rubbing it with my thumb. Once it started, it all came off cleanly. Didn't need any solvent or anything. Of course, I may have just gotten lucky
