Tiller off?

Post by Up-Stream »

Just received new limbs for a micro 335 that blew a limb. Originally noticed tiller was off before I found the crack. New limbs installed and already starting to look like tiller is off. I have the supposed new riser head. Any info would be appreciated.

Contact Excalibur with any concerns as they're the best source of information.

I'm going to go out on a limb and think this isn't a Joe post (first and only post is about a defect).

I'm not even seeing where I complete my registration. I'm from Michigan, but not sure how that would help with the issue I'm having. I understand the warranty procedures, just thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone else has had the same issue and try to figure out what's going on. I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the riser, rail, or string. It's all just as it came out of the box assembled by my local archery pro shop. Just concerned as to why my tiller would already be off by over a 1/4 inch in less than 2 weeks from replacing broken limbs. The limbs that broke had less than 50 shots fired through them and only 7 different hunts where bow was cocked for about 3-4 hours each sit. Just wondering if tiller being off is common or if their is a fix besides warranty. I'd like to use this week. Bucks are chasing pretty good around here right now.

So the tiller has changed since you installed the limbs?
It was fine and now its off?
pull them off and check your limbs again.

When I replaced the broken limbs with the new limbs the tiller looked great and I was able to harvest a nice doe with it. In about a weeks time the tiller seems to be moving already. Just trying to figure out if I possibly have an issue other than another limb issue. Thanks for the help. I thought about taking limbs off checking then putting them on opposite sides.

Can you better describe your first failure?
Measure the distance between the string and the bumpers and or the string to the limb where it departs from the riser and get back to us. Seems is a pretty wide brush.
There are no bows with perfect tiller. You can say you have bad tiller if your fixed broadheads and a good arrow give you bad groups as in over 3" at 30 yards while your arrows yield really good groups. But there are no specific numbers to identify bad tiller.

I think that's a great idea. If everything is tight, brace height is correct, swapping sides still proves tiller is out, then I'd be making a call to Excalibur.

My first failure I noticed tiller was off by about 1/4 inch. Sitting crooked across rail. Upon further inspection I found a crack in a limb close to the limb pocket. When I removed the limb to ship off for warranty the crack looked much worse. It looked like it was about to shear off right at the limb pocket. I can upload a photo later of the tiller. I understand tiller can be off a bit, just feel a little nervous it's off this much already. Contacted Excalibur and waiting on someone to return my call. Thanks again for all the input.
