NIB Matrix 350 LE

Post by Huntsman »

I just bought one yesterday. Last week I bought two packs of the X-Act mech 100gr broadheads. Now I just read that these are too light for the shorter 18" bolt that the Matrix uses?
Did I read correctly?

I use 18" Black Eagle Zombie Slayers in my 350 LE with 100 grain heads.
As long as you are at least 350 grains you are OK. I do prefer 400 grains at least for hunting though.

Hi RobertYB,
I'm the same guy from Crossbow Nation, Sgt Recoil.
So first off, I'll have to weight by bolts with the 100gr BH's.
2nd, Can I cut down my 20" Firebolts? Will the longer fletch affect anything?
This new Matrix will definitely be used for hunting purposes.

The arrows they come with use light weight aluminum insert and require heavier broadheads to maintain optimal accuracy and performance. I recommend using 150gr + broadheads with them. When you're ready for a new arrow purchase you can go to Black Eagle Zombie Slayer or Executioner arrows with either 92gr or 110gr
brass inserts. That'll give you the freedom to shoot whichever weight broadheads you please.

I would not cut them down, They weight 250 grains without a head on already. You can shoot a 20" arrow fine. You will be out past the stirrup though.
I totally agree with Paul's post above.

Thanks All for your help and advise. I weighed all my bolts and with that I will be staying with the 150gr Bolt Cutters which I have on hand for my Matrix and saving the 100gr X-Act for my Axiom and Equinox.
