9 Point Head Mount

Hey guys....

Here's a little pic of my head-mount from the 9 point I shot Oct 11. I just got it back from the taxidermist last night. My wife was a little suprised at "how large it was" (the first time I've EVER heard that comment from her!!). Now I'm continuing to work for permission to hang it somewhere other than the garage!

He's a keeper. Thank Excalibur, for helping me get my first "trophy" buck!

nice mount...

at my house there would be no issues hanging it in the living room....my wife would INSIST on it!

Very Nice Korey,

I have full permission to mount in the living room, now I just have to bag a deer that size.

I watched a buck the size of your "meat deer" this morning from my stand for over an hour. He was eating corn we put out and I had the cross hairs on him a dozen times at a perfect quartering away angle but decided to let him walk. He'll be a nice size next year and I've still got 27 days left this year to bag a nice one for the living room. (Got lots of doe tags for meat deer)

Shucks I call Korey's buck a meat deer and a nice wall mount trophy in one. I got a 9pt rack on my wall Korey but not as nice a rack as yours. All the tines but one were broke

I'm chewing on a nice piece of jerky made from that 9 point right now...mmmmm...good! I had the entire thing made into jerky and pepperettes. It was 157.5 lbs, hanging in the cooler at the butchers without the hide and legs. He turned it into 34 lbs of FINE jerky, and 104 lbs of pepperettes (with 30 lbs of pork added to make them less dry).

The "meat" buck is being turned into roasts, steaks, and burger. I think I'm set for the winter....and it's a bonus my landowner who lets me hunt on his property LOVES the pepperettes....and I think I have a few to spare! He'll be getting his fair share this Xmas!

nice mount korry...but , is that your deer tag on his antler? cause you can take it off now,and move him to the living room ,where he's supposed to be

You guys get to hunt into late December?
That is a nice touch, our season ended with November!
My big wall hanger is waiting to get bigger for next year I guess!

Way to go on the buck, and I must agree, the slab sets it off beautifully!
BTW the garage can be a pretty good spot to admire him, as long as you have a lazy boy(or two) and a beer fridge!
