I'm going to check with the local anodizer in Windsor to see if they can do this...

If you want a truly hard surface, which does not add to the dimensions and is smooth as glass check out DiamonDyze. As far as type ii and type iii anodize there is really no measurable difference in hardness, type iii would have more wear resistance because of more penetration and surface build up. I have seen the Diamondyze process and finished product and the stuff is amazing.

Let me know Jeff. I contacted 7 or 8 across Ontario and none would touch it.
It would be hard for me to switch guys though after seeing the job Tony did.
Its more practical for a bunch of guys to send stuff in all at once. Easier for them to set up and run.
Im in for making plans for a run.

I may have missed it as I quickly read through the previous comments....but is this process being done to eliminate the use of rail lube?

I don't use rail lube anyway but there's certainly no need for it after the polishing and anodizing. If you turn your serving and look at where it rides the rail you'll notice wear. This eliminates that and the only wear you'll see is from the trigger jaws.

IMHO, rail lube is the reason for not using rail lube! It's not necessary and it can accelerate serving separation, attract dirt and can gradually work its gunk into your trigger mech. A light waxing of the serving with Daltons and the use of a silicone spray like Jigaloo works just fine for 99% of shooters but that 1% of us is keeping the archery industry afloat!

I will never own a camo rail again because I'd end up stripping it to get the anodizing done anyway. I think if I ever do one again, I'll get the sides polished like Don did to eliminate the two tone look. For those that are afraid of glare, it's nothing to worry about especially if you only get the top of the rail done. The finish is incredibly durable - Paul handed me my riser at Boofest and I fumbled the exchange and it bounced off a concrete floor without a mark. :D
the work done compliments this bow very nicely, what a beauty! I may be interested in something similar. We must have more pictures!
