Would this red dot work for my x-bow?

that would be great because they are cheap.

You only get what you pay for. Cheapness may keep you in the game but why not put a decent max or vari zone scope on your Excal xbow if thats what you have. If you've a cheap xbow , put a cheap scope on it. It wont shoot any better than F/O sights. :( A max zone or varizone may be twice the price but will will be three time the value of the red dot. 8)

I agree with the cheap part, but sure it will work for your crossbow. We have a Horton Steel Force and the sight is similar. Just keep extra batteries on hand. It's easy to forget to turn off the switch when you are done.

Make sure it fits your bases though. That's for a dove tail base commonly found on air rifles and pistols (and .22's).

I maybe wrong but I would say thats a air rifle red dot and would not waste my gteens on it. For $60.00 greens U.S. you can get a 3 dot cross bow red dot scope from Wally Mart....

crossbow red dot

I do not recommend the Horton or any 3 dot red dot for hunting. I tried mine this morning and could not see the dots when the deer was in bright sun with the power for the dots on the highest setting (I was not looking into the sun; I was in a barn looking away from the sun).

I like the Horton 3 dot red dot from Bass Pro Shop at $49.99 US plus shipping plus mounting base -- works well on my Exocet.

I have one on my Horton, and it does the job OK.

I have it zeroed at 27 yds which gives me a point blank range of 18 to 33 yds.

I don't like the Varizone-type scopes, because you get into the habit of trying to hit an exact spot, and calculating how many tics above or below the horizontal cross-wire you should be holding. In the presence of game I just want to put my aiming point in the middle of the boiler works and shoot.
