stringing aid snapped
Last night I bought backup string for my matrix 350 and was going to put it in and let it stretch, well as i began to pull the stringing aid rope snapped, right around the Centre where the serving on a string is that's where it snapped..didnt appear to damage the limbs ir anything but just wondering if this has happenee to anyone before.
Would Excalibur cover under warranty, if not what type of string should I buy to replace the snapped string aid rope.

Re: stringing aid snapped
I have both the Excal and the DM stringing aids. I much prefer the DM version.

Wow, yeah I could see the platic breaking just couldn't picture the rope snapping in the center.wonder if a sharp edge on the ADF could've caused it . ??? Go figure

The ropes will get old n fibers break down. The trigger claws wear on them badly also. Change out the rope every few yrs

Re: stringing aid snapped
This is my stringer that I served in the middle. I was a little paranoid about the claws damaging the rope.

I do the same thing. get yourself a DM string aid and serve the center just like in the pic. and you cad tell if it is getting frayed.

I had surgical tubing in mine also and it still snapped...love the idea of putting a serving around that area...

I've got 550 paracord that I use to pull my bow up the tree...so that will be strong enough as a stringing aid?sproulman wrote:You had cheap string until i went to paracord 550 mine bro also with surgical tubing..6 dollars for big roll at wal-mart..Ontario Savage wrote:I had surgical tubing in mine also and it still snapped...love the idea of putting a serving around that area...

Samson Amsteel rope 1/8" is about as good as it gets, 2500 lb breakin strength. Its plenty stout n then serve it wid .036 Angel Majesty
