Turkey Hunting Broadheads
This is my first year turkey hunting with the crossbow. I currently use 125 gr broadheads for deer hunting, with zombie bolts. What broadheads would you guys recommend for turkey hunting and should I stay with 125 gr heads? Thanks for your assistance.

Accuracy and confidence is most important. If you are confident in your deer setup, then use it.mr meat wrote:You can use what you use for deer!

Any set up that gives you 1" accuracy at the range you plan on shooting is what you should use.

Some will brag about the magnus bullhead.... head chopper that is a good option but l have killed over twenty turkeys over the years with a standard spitfire only ever loosing one to a bad hit on my part. Now l use the super wide spitfire max.ln short a regular deer head will kill a turkey just fine with proper placement. Without the expense and resighting that goes with it .look at charts on the internet there are many that show turkey anatomy.

Magnus bullhead...
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure if there was any advantages to using broadheads designed for turkey hunting verses deer hunting broadheads.
I currently use Muzzy Trocar 125 gr broadheads for deer hunting, and they shoot great.

This is probably a stupid question, but if you happen to shoot a nice turkey and plan on getting it mounted, would broadheads like the Magnus Bullhead do too much damage?bellerivercrossbowhunter wrote:Magnus bullhead...

When a turkey is mounted it gets a plastic head.
