I have a basic question regardiung the scope mount on my Matrix 405.
I tried to use a weaver quick detach mount but it mounts loose. Is this a weaver style mount or some other typr? Thanks. Need rings for my new Hawke XB1 as the rings fro the Excalibur Twightlight DLX are too big.

You need a 1" Weaver style ring to fit the Excalibur Weaver type base, the XB1 uses a 1" tube I believe. The Excalibur DXL ring you are trying to use is 30mm and will not clamp your 1" (25.4mm) scope tube.

thank you. you are correct. i wasn't tightening the ring base down all the way. all set. just need to get a high ring now. the medium isn't high rnough for the objective with lens cover to clear the mount.
