335 Micro
I'll be getting a new 335 Micro soon, also some Zombies from Jerry. What's a good length to have my shafts cut to. Does anyone go as low as 15" and still get good flight with fixed broadheads? I'll be fletching Blazers with the Bolt Jig. Thanks

Do they already have the screw in inserts or do you glue them suckers on? I used to use the 110 grain 4 blade Black Diamonds during the compound days and they were deadly.vixenmaster wrote:There maybe some that have them that short. Re: 335 Micro
I go 16" normally, but have also shot some at 15.5" with no issues. All I shoot are fixed heads. Any Slick Trick, (std 100, magnum 125, Xbox 150) Ramcats(100 and 125gr, my favorite), 2 blade 150gr Magnus stingers all fly great for me to 40 yds. There are a bunch of other good fixed heads out there too.

If I'm not Mistaking. When I was looking for backfeed on arrow combo's All the guys with Micro 335 said that the sweet spot was 18" arrows. Especially for down range accuracy. That's my .2 c

Re: 335 Micro
AN 18" arrow will stick out past the stirrup... I don't like that for hunting, that's why I go 16".
18" arrows come with Matrix bows. Quills, which come with Micros are 16"

Re: 335 Micro
I, like I'm sure others do, shoot the factory length Quills alot.
However, my micro uses what I consider "serious hunting arrows" cut to 15 1/2" ( primarily BEE's and Zombie Slayers ) which combined with 92 grain brass inserts, either 125 or 150 gn 4 blade Slick Trick Magnums, and 2 " Blazer's. ( with and or without Nuflech Ignotor nocks )
I find them to be "oh so accurate" out of my 335 gen ll out to 55 yards .... ( the longest current distance at which I'm shooting them off the bench on my measured off 3D shooting range ). I use the same formula, but cut to 17" for my 350 SE and Matrix 380.

Re: 335 Micro
For instance, my 405 calls for 18" arrows, but I wanted a little extra weight and I didn't want the broadhead to go through my foot if I forgot to remove an arrow before discharge so I went to 19.25".Goose52 wrote:what is the reasoning behind shooting arrows shorter than oem?
Going shorter might mean that your BH tipped arrow fits inside the stirrup which is important when hunting. I have used BEA arrows for the Micro anywhere between 15.75" and 16.5" with very accurate results. Anyone who thinks a Micro with its 16" arrow are not accurate enough has not seen Colton on the 100y range at Boofest.
Re: OEM arrows, they are serviceable but far from the top shelf stuff that is available to us.
