Rope Cocking Aid

Post by jody5252 »

I am sure this has been asked before. But I would like to know the proper way to adjust the Rope Cocker? So it fits the bow and the person cocking the bow. And, as always, check for hook damage and rope wear... Thanks

It is simple to do. Pull the rope off on side and work the knot loose. Shorten it to where you want it and retie the knot and put it back inside the handle. I like mine shortened to the point where I have to latch it on one side and the pull the string back by hand about 4 inches to be able to hook the other side up.
As far as checking the hooks and rope for damage always do a visual check before using. Look for cracks in the hooks or the pins slipping out the sides.

I like mine so that its just tight enough to hold "itself" on the crossbow itself for storage. Keep in mind if the string stretches it will get looser .....so slightly tighter is better. You dont want it tight as hell incase you have to do a follow up shot time is very important here. ....hope this makes sense.lbj. ps during hunting season i always have an extra in my pack......theres no hand cockin a matrix micro or even a 330 ...at least i cant.

You don't have to untie the knot. Pull knot loose from handle , pull length you want to shorten, tie new knot. Then cut off old knot and burn end of line.

ive found it depends on your height and model crossbow. you need to try different lengths.for instance with my Micro 335 making the rope cocker too short makes it painful to cock.my guess the limbs are loaded high early in the beginning. on my long limb models i keep the cocker short by a couple inches and it makes it easier to cock.

I shortened the 315 but the Suppressor works fine as stock.

With 1 end on your limb & the other past 2" - 3" is a good startin point, read it on here awhile ago.

I keep mine set so that when it is on my crossbow my string is about 1" from the bumpers.
