Best Bolts/Arrows

Post by Big Pard »

I realize this is a loaded question but I wanted the collective wisdom of this forum to share what they believe is the best (straightest and/or most consistent flying) arrow. I currently use a Black Eagle Executioner .003 +/- straightness at 18.5" (cut down from 22") bought from Borkholder. I notice that these arrows are a little long for my Micro 335 and was also wondering what length arrows do most Micro shooters use. I currently have no problems with these arrows but just wanted to input from you guys and gals when I go to get my next dozen.

Thanks
Buddy

Depending on your wallet, I might suggest cutting your 18'5" BEE to the length best suited for your Micro 335.

Thanks all for the replies. If I was to cut down my arrows what is the best way to remove the insert?

I like Zombies or Spynal Tapps, indexed and matched in all my Excalibur the best, But I get the same results with Executioners indexed and matched in the 350 and lighter draw bows. But stiff spine gives me my best results from the heavier draw bows.

I prefer heavier spined arrow shafts, Zombies or Spynal Tapps. I cut mine done to 16" on the Micro 335, really depends on the B-head length you use n if'en yer in a ground blind wid the bidness end down on the ground or up in a tree stand

Well Vixenmaster I'm thinking I would like to shoot the shortest arrow I can and as of right now I shoot the rage Hypodermics.

At hunting distances, I couldn't tell a difference between 15, 16 or 16.5
. As long as my boot still kicks the arrow out of the stirrup I'm content.

Although, I might add, the extra couple inches does make it easier to pull an arrow from the target

This is KEY to any length chosen! Glad you mentioned that.

Most at camp cut arrows around 16/16.5 inchs in micros ..mine are 16.5 inch with Spitfire point ...

to get insert out I put little GOOF OFF in cup and stick the arrow and insert in it for say 10 minutes..Then I remove the nock and take a drill bit with threads facing nock and drop it inside arrow ... Use drill bit that is just slightly smaller than inside of arrow.....put a sheet on ground and take arrow and snap the bit at sheet after about 3 trys out will come your insert..

I use 1/8 steel rod 2 ft long from lowes to pound out the nock first from insert end ...
use blue cap gorilla glue gel to glue in the insert after cutting arrow..

You are right...MICROS shoot better with stiff arrows BUT I see no difference to 40 yards with .001/003 Zombie ..
