My Pittbull and Lyme
My buddy,s been on antibiotics for 3 weeks. He could not walk on his hind legs. He runs like lightning bolts. But he starting limping 3 weeks ago. I thought it was from an injury in the winter. When this Buck hit him with his horns . That buck got hit by a car in sept. His hips were broken and his right leg did not work. Because I have a spring in my yard. The buck would never leave. My good friend is a Game Protector for Pa. Game. I told him about the Deer . He told me I could not kill him to put him out of his misery. That he would. But that never became to be . I will never let that happen again. Watch that deer suffer from Sept. to Feb. 20 when the coyotes finally got him. I was cutting the grass 1st time. In April right at the edge of the asphalt was the bucks horn . So he did hit the dog to protect him self. Next time I will take the appropriate action

Re: My Pittbull and Lyme
So was your dog injured by the deer or does it have Lyme's? It's not clear from your post and subject heading?....which don't seem to match.

Wow. That would make him a respectful hunter. Not a poacher.otisbrazwell wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 11:01 pmyou good friend the came protector is not a good friend. you should have put that deer down.

Re: My Pittbull and Lyme
the way I read it the deer laid around his yard busted up suffering through fall and winter. some guys will see an injured
deer suffering during deer season and wont shoot it because they don't want to waste a tag. you do what you want that's not poaching in my book.on the other hand some of you can bait deer and shoot over bait here you go to jail.

Re: My Pittbull and Lyme
Well the law describes it as poaching. Kill a deer out of season for any reason without permission, and it's poaching. Simple as that.

I also am a bit confused
Sorry to hear if you buddy got Lyme from a deer? Although I am unsure that it can be contracted that way.

Re: My Pittbull and Lyme
IMO...Wether someone puts any animal down is a very personal decision and dependent on the circumstances, which I am positive I wasn't there to know those circumstances so who can say what the right decision was except the person in the situation. Not to mention he already stated that he would do things differently if it happens again. Like I said.... JMO
Hope the dog is okay
