so last fall I dig my 30 year old virgin wolverine crossbow out of the old closet.bought some new bolts and some new field points then of course the weather turned to poop.hopefully soon after the 12" of fresh fallen spunk has melted I can get outside and practice with this old gem.what kind of range should I get out of it?damned if I can remember what I sighted it in for.all that I remember is that you never shoot 2 arrows at the target before you walk to check the placement.damn thing shot a tight pattern.
Would love to see some pictures of the bow It was a compound I believe is that correct?
The Wolverine was the first split limb model Bill T. made. Wood stock & carved tip limbs. I believe it was a 150# bow.
By split limb, I mean split in the center for the riser to use 2 limbs - not the old 1 piece limb design.

Yep!
It’s not the way you rock, it’s the way that you roll!
I thought Excalibur had a compound bow at one point is that accurate and if it was what was the name of the bow ?
That would be the Max Point.

I can throw some pictures up if its possible.but my original question was never answered.what yardage should I sight this old sucker in at?20,30,40 yards?
As for sighting in your Wolverine. If you have the same Tasco 2.5X scope that came on my Wolverine in 1987. I'm using an arrow weights around 430 grains. For the 3D target range, I have my Wolverine is set it up like this - centre cross-hairs @25 yds, then where the cross-hairs go from thick to thin at the top is ~15 yds. Where the cross-hairs go from thin to thick at the bottom is ~35yds.
They're a great bow. Back in the the late 80's, 5 of us got one within a couple of years or each other. The only issue anyone ever had, was buddy left his in the back of his station wagon. The heat caused the bow limbs to fail. He sold that bow years ago and has relocated to Asia. Out of the 4, 2 are still used regularly for hunting, I get mine out for summer 3D shoots at the range.
