Ron I’ve been off-grid a few days. Just read this post. So sorry for all of this. My prayers for your whole family.

They removed Wayne's breathing tube today and he was able to breath on his own for 2 hours, so organ donation is no longer an option at this time. Yesterday when they went to suction out his lungs he reached up and pulled the tube out of his mouth/throat... a sign that there is still some brain function going on. This morning when they did their tests on him there was no response to a light being shined in his eyes but he was able to move his fingers when asked. After a couple hours it was back to unresponsive again. They have him sedated to limit brain activity and give it a chance to heal if it will. Wayne now has a total of four brain bleeds with the latest one developing in the stem of the brain at the top of the spinal column in the area that affects consciousness. (which of course is not good) there really isn't anything they can do for the brain bleeds other than hope they will heal themselves. They did put another tube down his throat today to feed nourishment into his stomach which may also help keep his organs functioning.
I will keep everyone updated when I can.

My heart is heavy with sadness after reading all that your brother and the family are dealing with.

Yesterday he was very restless and was moving his arms and legs a lot. The neurologist said that was a very good sign that his brain may be healing and a very good possibility that he may walk again if he pulls through this. This morning I visited him but did not try to wake him. After I left the Doctor did his morning checks and his right eye responded to light very well and he actually woke up. The doctor was asking him questions and he was able to nod his head yes or no. He couldn't open his eyes but my niece opened his eye and asked if he knew who she was.. he nodded his head yes and began to cry. These are very encouraging signs after being told that he was basically brain dead.

I do believe in the power of prayer.
I do believe in miracles.
