New to Excalibur
Bought an Excalibur Assassin. It shot lights out today, and I'm glad it didn't take long to sight in...it was only 27 degrees.
Any suggestions on things I might need?

Re: New to Excalibur
Thanks guys.
I have a stringer, and Black Eagle arrows. I have both Slick Trick and Truglo 4 blade expandable heads. Any suggestions on which to use?
Also, I have 2 Scorpyd Orions to go with this Assassin, so not sure when I'll 'need' my next crossbow

Re: New to Excalibur
Welcome to the forum, congrats on the new Excalibur, and thanks for your service. Sounds like you're pretty well set, and understand the crossbow as well. Which broadheads to use depends on the accuracy you get.
Good luck!

Re: New to Excalibur
I'm a fan of fixed blade heads versus mechanicals, but either type will kill deer very well when placed properly. My favorite fixed blades are Slick Tricks and RamCats. 125gr or 150gr.

Welcome aboard and thank you for your service to the USA. Much appreciated!
One thing that you will learn on this forum is that we are always eager to help you spend your money !
With that said, also bear in mind that many people shoot the Excalibur Crossbow's never having paid mind to changing out anything on the OEM...and with much success, I sure!
1. Upgraded Scope- Hawke, Nikon, Leupold (although Luppy no longer makes the Crossbones scope),
2. Black Eagle Archery Arrows- Executioners or Zombie Slayers. There are also some arra makers on the forum if you're interested. Otherwise there is Danny Miller in Ohio 1.740.483.2312, Dave at Wyverns Creations and Jerry at South Shore Archery....all of these people can help take some of your money!
3.Stringer- to maintain proper brace height is a must!
4. Arrow puller- Highly recommend you reach out to Danny Miller for his....the best on the market!
5. Good string wax!
6. Extra string! In the future you might want to consider a Flemish string....A lot of good string twisters on this forum! Vixenmaster, Boo, NChunterkw and others.
7. Lighted nocks- Lumenoks, Ignitors, firenocks.
8. Good target- reinhardt, ThirdHandBag
9. rangefinder-
10. Dr Stirrup Accessories- Stirrup, bumnpers and a highly recommended upgraded quiver!
11. Broadheads- your choice!
12. Most important ask as many questions as you can.....a lot of very knowledgeable professors in this forum.
Again, welcome aboard!

I've used Slick Tricks for a couple of years and they're great heads but I really like the Truglo expandables the 3 deer we shot this year left great blood trails and short recoveries.
