Micro 335 Limb Failure

Re: Micro 335 Limb Failure
Can't see the photo but I would just sand it smooth and call it a day.
The back of the Excalibur facility is just NUTS this time of year and it must have been a oversight in attempt to facilitate fast turnaround during the hunting season. I know this because I have been in the factory many times.

Here is the prominent one I believe Buck is referring to.Buck wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 3:37 pmReceived the Riser and Limbs today. Its obvious that the riser is machined, roughly ground, and not new. Also notice that sharp metal from the rough grinding is within a millimeter of the limb. You can really see it clearly in the 2nd to last thumbnail. I’m pretty sure that this will dig into the limb while shooting and cause another failure.
Here is the link to the 5 pics I took.

Re: Micro 335 Limb Failure
I finally got around to shooting the Micro 335 today. Here is my take.
Total turnaround time from shipping old to receiving replacement was 5 days.
The limbs were new, riser was machined and roughly finished.
Shot a few shots at 20 and 30 and it seems consistent.
I shot 3 Quils w 100 grain field tips through the Chrono.
359......356......and 357.
Prior to the limb break I only cracked 330 once.
So basically she came back with some minor scars and a (what I consider) a significant speed improvement.... I’ll take it that any day!!!

Re: Micro 335 Limb Failure
I had a set of limbs like that once. Throw a heavy string on there, shoot a 400 plus grain arrow and utilize their ability to move a heavy arrow.
Don't be like me and try to keep the speeds up with a lighter arrow. It's great to have a hot set of limbs, it's even better to keep them hot and in one piece.

Re: Micro 335 Limb Failure
My gen 1 335 developed cracks near the top of the left limb during the first week of bow season. I was able to get the limbs replaced on about a week but was a little disappointed in the color match as was talked about earlier in this thread. The bow seems to have picked up some speed over the original limbs ( indicated by the speed ring on my scope) and certainly feels a little harder to cock. Thinking about purchasing a backup now as missing a week from a 6 week season is a total let down.
