Aluminum 2117

Post by Heavy Waters »

I have a question about aluminum arrows. I know some folks shoot 2219s from their crossbows. Is it possible to cut down 2117s and shoot them from a micro 335. I have a couple dozen of them left over from my vertical days.

If it were me I would not use a small arrow I would use 2216 or 2219 you don't want arrow to brake when you shoot . be safe and sell your 2117's and get the bigger ones. JMO.

2117`s were the norm until the carbon arrows were able to not break every time you shot them through a animal .
I still shoot them out of my older bows for nostalgia sake . Couple of years ago when we had multiple tags . I shot two deer in one morning with my wolverine with 2117`s and old wasp cam-loks . :)

I have used alluminum arrows for years.yes2117s will work but the spine is wimpy for a micro you need 2219s . Just my opinion from experience ....nothing is gonna beat a zombie or executioner shaft with a 100 or 110 brass insert up front. The carbons are so much tougher its night n day. I didn't believe what others were telling me either. The accuracy is night n day also.

I would not use 2117's with a micro . 2216's were good for about 2 shots out of my M380. 2219 shafts worked stood up much better ..
