Reisterer stock build
I finally got around to putting money down on this. Mike is making me a stock for my matrix 380 blackout.
Its probably a bit boringly styled compared to his usual peices. I am going for a classic rifle look stock in black walnut with metal trigger guard. Basically in the same vein as some of the vintage crossbows like the old barnett wildcat, aka looking like someone added limbs to their hunting rifle.
Main reason I went for wood is while I don't mind synthetic stocks on things I am not attracted to the tacticool look, which a lot of crossbows seem to cultivate. Had enough of tacti cal/cool in the army. Not knocking anyone elses choices, just a preference.
Hope it works out well though from what I have been told Mike knows his stuff and is familiar with excalibur bows. He first said he might even drop it off in person(as he once did for someone in the UK) which I replied feel free, would be about the best shipping deal ever, we can have beers after you fit it. However the distance to us is a little more than he liked to handle in the air, 18 hours or so.

Mike does nice work! It says a lot when a fussy cabinet maker says what he said in the post above.

Congratulations! You are about to join a rather elite club. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mike and I've had the pleasure of handling and shooting some of his stocks. The quality and craftsmanship is fantastic.

My pleasure to build a stock for Karl. He is putting his idea's into it and it should be fun. I will give it my all.

A follow along maybe?
Re: Reisterer stock build
Thanks all -and Mike for chiming in! I didnt realise you were a frequenter of the forums. I am just deciding which way to go which will involve some discussions with the fellow club members here this weekend. It will be good to make them jealous. One fellow has a wooden stock on an older excalibur he wants to show me. I am not sure if its custom or maybe a relayer or wolverine which was sold with a wood as an option I believe at some point. I didnt know excal was sending bows here back then but I'll find out shortly.

Re: Reisterer stock build
Hey if you guys want a build along that can be arranged. I am going to have to get good at posting pics again but this old dog can learn. We shall see how this all progresses.
