You’re right. I’ll stop worrying about it and when the Nikon arrives on Friday, I’ll enjoy it.

Re: Strange thing happened with Dead Zone
Mark, I had two different bows where the “zone” scopes were flaky. I gave one of the scopes to someone and haven’t heard any negative feedback. Back in the old school days folk would tap the turret with the back of a screwdriver to settle the crosshairs and adjustments in. I think we are beyond that these days but with Chinese optics, who knows.
I hope you quest is successful.

So I got the Nikon and all I can say is WOW! However, as I took the Dead Zone off the bow, I noticed the eyepiece lens was loose and rattled as I shook the scope. This week, I had noticed that a small rubber gasket had fallen half out of place on the eyepiece lens. I shoved it back in place with my fingernail. I guess I will have to RMA it so I have a spare scope that doesn't rattle.

My scope is dialed to around 300 as well and I too have a 330 model crossbow. I am using Diablo bolts and using 100 grain points.
I have looked at the Nikon scopes but haven’t bought one.

Boy. Excalibur is really great. Now I feel bad for criticizing the dead zone. I sent my Dead Zone in for RMA and excalibur sent me back a brand new Tact Zone. I’m really confused now. I do love the Nikon but I can’t help it. I’ll try the tact zone out and see how I like it. I never thought I wanted a lighted reticle. Considering that I want to hunt my neighborhood problem bear, that lighted reticle might show up real nice on a black bear in low light. Dang, it’s nice to have choices.

Then you might as well splurge on an ACOG Crossbow. Its what the durability, simplicity, accuracy, and dependability of the Excalibur deserve.

I actually love the Nikon so much I don’t want to take it off my bow. If I ever get the “itch” to get a faster bow, I’ll try to get one of those good deals on a bare bow I see on eBay or amazon and put the tact zone on it. (Actually, I was feeling that itch last night but suppressed it. I love my bow.)Ferguson Outfitters wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 9:23 amThen you might as well splurge on an ACOG Crossbow.
