Self Camo on Excalibur
I am in the process of painting the limbs on my deerhide brown exocet, I am looking for ideas on how to paint it, like patterns. Could anyone that has painted their own crossbows post some pics so I can get some ideas, Thanx.

Both are a similar process. Paint a basecoat usually witha colour fade. Then I paint on some light trees to represent a background then spray on the detailed stuff fo rthe foreground. The type of camo will determine your basecoat, trees, leaves etc...
The absolute easiest way is to apply camo duct tape to the limbs. I prefer the textured mesh type tape but as long as it it duct tape it will hold for more than one season. This bow has camo tape applied to the limbs.

Hope this helps.

DesertRat,
I realy, realy like that paint job. It looks like Skyline Camo.
If I didn't have a grey laminated stock by Mark on mine I'd beg you to do my bow like that.
Beautiful artwork...

ranger66,
I too have brown Exocet and have painted it. I've painted the limbs, riser, stock and the scope;basically the whole thing.
I used Krylon camo spray paint. I used a combination of green, black, brown and tan. I started by doing a rather bold and basic pattern. I then went over top of this pattern using cedar branches as a stencil, first one colour then another. It really adds depth and shadow by doing this. And so far the paint has held up pretty well. Oh yeah once the paint has dried try using a coat or two or clear, matte arylic spray. I think this helps protect the paint from rubbing off prematurely.
