Hi to all this is my first post i have just registered as a member after viewing the site as a guest for the last few months. A friend from work (quickshot) recomended me to buy an excalebur when i told him i was in the market for a crossbow. So not knowing much about bows i listened and bought an exocet, the same day a friend and i went out to target shoot he was using a compound bow and keep his grouping in a ten inch circle, but my exocet stright from the store shoot in a three inch circle and i split two arrows before i figured out only shoot one at a time. My friend was so impressed we went back to the store and he sold his compound bow for $280 and had the money come off his new exocet. The first time we used the crossbows it was in Bancroft at our hunt camp during bow only season. I had found a nice spot where we always see does playing around and it never failed they always come out there. I was sitting on a hill facing down where they come out and then heard something behind me and there the were two nice does and a small fawn. I was down hill now so i thought i'll have to shoot higher and the arrow will drop so i put it where i thought and let her go and it sailed right over the does back. thats they only chance i got with my bow all year long and i blow it. I spent alot of time since practicing all angles, and will drop the next one that gives me a change. all in all the i have never shot a crossbow other then excalibur and i don't think i ever will its perfect.
I didn't get skunked though on opening day of gun season i shot a four point buck at 65 yards with my 308. It was also my first year hunting and it was full of fun all season long, i cant wait to get out there next season.
I already have a moose hunt book for early season opening and i'm bringing the exocet.
well thanks for listening i have learned alot from you guys
