As you may know Maine opened Turkey season early this year. Me and my youngest daughter went out all day Saturday. No luck with a Tom but we did see a hen and two beautiful pileated woodpeckers. Maine gave the youth hunters an extra day this year and despite some snowy weather we are back at it again. I saw a flock of birds not far from here and we hope to lure them in. I have a Little Buddy heater going in the blind so we are quite comfortable. I see some of you guys have had some turkey success already and I would like to congratulate you all. Gonna try to upload a pic
Take care,
Hatchet

Outdoors with the family, nothing better! Especially when it’s hunting and fishing.

Thanks for the support everyone. No Tom today but this Saturday the season opens. We have five hunters in my family and we will all be out in the woods. I am pretty sure I am scaring the birds off by calling. Gonna leave the calls home for a day and see what happens. We are not hearing any gobbling yet and the weather is still pretty cool. The woods where we were today are loaded with beech nuts. Last year we got lucky when the birds came in to feed on the beech nut sprouts.
Hoping all of you and yours are well.
