Blood on bolt after shot
I have shot two deer with my swat xmags. Almost no blood on the bolt after each shot. Both good placement. I’m happy with the broadheads but just wandering if anyone else using swat xmags have had similar experiences...
Each time I got a little worried after inspecting the bolt after the shot because of the lack of blood.
Good luck everyone the rut is on!!!

I used a Mini Mag and got blood on the shaft and vanes. I used a Swat going 390 with a 425 gr arrow.

I’m using A4- mini, two shots, two deer. Did you find your deer?

Re: Blood on bolt after shot
I forgot to mention. I use white vanes so that blood shows up better. I find that these old eyes need full daylight to see blood in a black shaft. I removed the BEA decals but normally you can see blood in the decals.

This one was covered, and the blood trail was insane!

This one had blood all over the arrow, but the blood trail was not so great, the stomach plugged the entry hole. As you can see neither shot was a pass through. I think for hunting purposes bright colored vanes, and stripped graphics is the way to go, but I prefer a good blood trail and quick dispatch of the game over anything else, and these deliver on both for me.

Re: Blood on bolt after shot
Not to derail the OP but I notice the bolts have no illuminated nocks. Any particular reason?
Since installing Lumenocks I have no end of problems with consistent POI.

If you're not part of the solution, you might be part of the problem.
Re: Blood on bolt after shot
I prefer the aluminum rear nocks from Black Eagle. They have a nice radius on the nock which in my mind reduces the size a bit of where the nock contacts the string when cocked. The wraps on these arrows are reflective with very little light required to illuminate them, and even on cloudy days you can get a reflection. For tracking purposes I like to have good blood trails more than anything.
These vanes which i use without the wraps are made with fiber optic material and very visible when you make your shot.

I assume the performance is good.

Jerry, here are the Fiber Optic version, the Neon are the same but NOT fiber Optic material. I use those with the wraps that are reflective. They weigh the same, and have the same glue channel that is black, and go on like they're welded. I use the Bolt jig, and the size is just about .1" longer than the Blazer vanes, and these are shield cut. Both are from Fusion, Q2i series.
