Mag Air is marvelous
I answered the siren call of the Mag Air and it is a marvel. Absolutely the lightest hunting crossbow I have ever owned. Makes my Mag 340 and Matrix 330 feel like anchors. My tendonitis plagued arms are most grateful.
Got a great deal from WC here in the states including extra arrows. The new Rhino nocks should be a lot easier on servings.
For optics I mounted a Sig Sauer Romeo5 to keep the bow as light and simple as possible. Going to zip tie limb silencers to the stirrup and put rubber on the (oversized and thin) finger guard and install a Flemish string to quiet it down.
Did have one problem though.
Upon arrival my bow had a cracked finger guard. Sent an email with pics and a new stock was here in a week. Great customer service as always.
Can not wait to shoot my new baby.

I'm starting to think about a reflex or red dot for my Magair. It makes sense! I just don't know which one yet because there are so many now a days!

Trijicon!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Burris Fast Fire 3. Don't get the 2, you have to remove it from the base to change batteries, I have them both, and they are tough. I have the FF3 on my CVA .243 handgun, and it has not move for two years now.

Check out the Vortex Spitfire I’ve got a couple set up on my ARs and one on a shotgun and they work great. Only weighs about 9 ozs very clear optics great for use under 100 yards. I’ve never tried them on a crossbow yet but I think they would work for what you want.

A 2 MOA Reflex is about right. I have a 1 MOA and a 2MOA Reflex Dot sight and recently sold my 3 MOA red dot back in October .
Looking through a Reflex Dot sight at your local dealer is suggested to determine if your eyes and sight are compatible together before purchasing.
2 MOA is the sweet spot on a crossbow the way I see it .
I really have no complaints about my (1.6 oz) 1 MOA Trijicon SRO except the cost. Interestingly, the easily found 2032 nickel sized battery will last 2+ years continuously when left on using the # 5 brightness level.
(1-10) scale brightness settings on the Trijicon SRO.
For Example, a 2 MOA dot sight covers:
2" at 100 yards
1" at 50 y
1/2" at 25 y.
1 MOA covers:
1" at 100 y
1/2" at 50 y
1/4" at 25 y
My 2 MOA Kahles Helia Reflex (made by Swarovski ) also weighs 1.6 oz and like the Trijicon SRO features a larger sight window over what most small Pistol Reflex sights offer.
When I moved up from the standard window sized Vortex Venom 3 MOA Flex, I immediately I knew larger sized sight window officered by Trijicon and Kahles was noticeable welcome to my eyes getting faster on target using both eyes.
I also suggest looking at a slightly bigger offering from the various optic company's out there today.
I remember looking at several China made 2 MOA Reflex with large window sights at the SHOT show at a reasonable cost.
Wish I had saved their literature .

Re: Mag Air is marvelous
Do the “red dot” sights everyone is mentioning have any magnification? They sound like a nice alternative to a scope but my old eyes need some magnification to see horns…

Re: Mag Air is marvelous
I tried cheaper red dots and wasn't pleased with them. Fuzzy dots and fragile construction.
The Sig Sauer Romeo 5 is well made and the 2 moa dot is crisp. 3 moa dots seemed too big.
Plus it wasn't too expensive. And weighs a quarter of what my
Nikon Bolt scope.

Sig Sauer Romeo 5's are great red dot scopes for the money, and the shake awake and long battery life makes them even better.
