Has anyone tried the NAP Quickspin vanes?

Post by maddog »

Has anyone tried the NAP Quickspin vanes? I wonder if they work well on crossbow bolts.
The link below describes them.
Thanks in advance to any responders!

Old Kid shoots them. He seemed to like them. Maybe he can post something to elaborate any pros/cons.

From my limited experience with this topic, I have found that the faster the arrow (bolt) spins, the faster it slows down.

Am I wrong?

:D :D yea I have been shooting them for 6 month now out of my vert. and they do just what they say they will. I have some that will be going on my new bolts this week if you are going to do some fletching remember to use a 1.5 to 2.0 degree offset . have fun!

Does that mean you need 1/4 as much offset with these? I'm kind of with Allan on the spin but, I think you do need some. I tried straight and didn't get as good accuracy, with the compound, so I never tried them with the Xbow. Just ordered a 1 deg fletching jig to see how that will do.

HI I use a bitz. jig ,& a straight fletch clamp , and adjust the angle so it runs from off set left at the base to an equal distance offset at the top. its not hard to get these distances right. but younger eyes do help, the rate of spin is realy noticiable as well as grouping. there is a little bit of speed loss but it is mineute, i would much rather have tighter and better groups than 5 f.p.s.

I've been shooting NAP Quickspin vanes for over a year now. Based on what I've experienced myself and from speaking with other shooters at my local archery range, the Quickspins have been a quick and easy cure for broadhead flight problems for a lot of guys.

I realize that all broadheads should theoretically fly straight if everything else about the bolt is in order. However, if you've covered all the basics and things still don't seem to perform right, and if you don't have the money/time/tinkering abilities/backyard archery range to do all sorts of experimentation/tuning  ; I would recommend trying the Quickspins.

The only drawback I have found to the Quickspins is that they are made out of a soft rubbery plastic that is more prone to getting damaged if you miss or bury the bolt up to its vanes in a target.

LAST year i killed deer w/ my xbow using both the 2 1/4 & 4 inch quickspins. the 2 1/4 qs were used only w/ mechanicals.
