Well, this is the third year in a row that I’ve tagged a nice NW Oklahoma buck during the first week of season. I watched this buck on camera for a couple months, and Sunday evening was my first time to see him in person. Needless to say, it didn’t end well for him. The weather had been hot and windy, and deer movement was been slow. He came in just before the end of legal shooting light and presented a 30 yard broad side shot. The hit sounded good, and I was almost positive I heard him crash. I still waited in the stand about 30 minutes before getting down and looking for blood. I’ve bad mouthed the Carbon Express XT4 broadheads in past years for not giving a good blood trail, but I was able to follow this one with flashlight with a weak battery. He only ran about 40 yards. He weighed 260# live weight, had 33” back strap, and 14” tenderloins. He gross scored 159”.
I absolutely love this Stryker Offspring.
Congrats on a nice buck ..... It appears your latches may be a little rough and your center serving needs some attention??

That's a heck of a Deer for sure.
Being just south of Oklahoma, we here in Texas see a lot of good Deer taken in Oklahoma every year. No wonder it has the reputation of being one of the great "sleeper" states for good Whitetails.
Congrats on a really nice Buck!!
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, What a Ride!

Yes sir, I live in east TX but own a house and land in NW Oklahoma. My family has bird hunted up there since I was a kid, but we didn’t start deer hunting up there until 20 years ago. I’m spoiled now and don’t even really hunt in TX anymore.
