EXOMAX and Speed Tach Custom Chronometer

Post by Bucktail »

Very nice day down here in Southren Maryland, high 60's and sunshine.

I set up a shooting table and rest and the Custom Chronometer to dial in the Veri-Zone.

Chrono set up 3 ft in front of the Max.

Brace height 1 1/4" to the front of the string. Following are my results.

2213 20" 3- 5" feathers 382.0 grs (Avg) 327 fps (Avg)

GT Laser 2 20" 3- 4" Plastic 391.0 grs (Avg) 327 fps (Avg)

2219 20" 3- 5" feathers 466.0 grs (Avg) 307 fps (Avg)

If the weather stays nice I will try some different brace heights later this week.

Vari-Zone really dialed in at 20 yds now.

Nice tests, however, its a bit lower velocities when compared with the advertised. Are you sure your chronometer have good acuracy?

What weight points ? looks like you using 125gr points...
Good test and a heavy bolt with the max is the way to go. Your weight for the GT lazer 2's a little heavy innless brass inserts,as they should weigh less or close too the 2213's. :D

gad too get the 350 - 355 fps your bolt will be in the 350gr weight.. :D

Gary,

The GT Laser 2 shafts have the brass inserts at the front and 100 gr. points, or the Wasp Boss 100 gr. broadhead installed.

The 2219's have 125 gr. field points alum. front insert and alum. flat nock aft.

The 2213's are XX78's with alum. inserts both ends and 130 gr. field points. I removed the field points from the Laser 2's and reweighed the shafts and they average 351 grs. I will try to shoot these and see if I can get near the 350 fps as per Excalibur.

The thing that is neat, is at 20 yds all arrows hit nearly at the same spot. You cannot shot two shafts at the same dot, unless you want to refletch. We'll see what happens at 25 and 30 yds. on the next test.

Right on at 20 yards don't seem to make a difference. I WOULD STAY WITH THE HEAVIER BOLT for the ExoMax as better to load them limbs up a little more. I know this for a fact...also I assure you that a 350gr bolt will reach 350 - 355fps.. :D
