Speed, other than the name plate both are the same. Bill T wouldn't let them produce the parts and not be of the highest quality and put his name on it. That may be the reason Bear Archery dropped the Maxpoint and went to the F-series. Looks like the same prod and railwith a slightly different stock.

The Paradox/Maxpoint is a definite magnum, pound for pound.

maybe Evan would know, how or what you have to do to change over a maxpoint to a exomag, my brother wants or is inquiring on how, he says why buy 2 bows when maybe you can buy the front end of the exomag and the maxpoint and change when you want to go to recurve limbs, its a godd idea but i told him he's cheap :D :D , anyone know ??, i should'nt have told him about the maxpoint deal!!!!! :P :P :?:

So the bottom line. Are the new F series Bear crossbows the same as the Maxpoint and if they are different are they inferior?

Changing the Maxpoint/Paradox to an Exomag is a piece of cake. You'll need a set of recurve limbs (standard or light), a riser, mounting hardware for the limbs to the riser, and you're set to go. Changing back and forth between the Maxpoint and the Exomag is a matter of unscrewing two bolts removing one limb assembly, and mounting another limb assembly. You'll have to realign your scope a bit. It takes me about 10 minutes to change back and forth. I currently have mine set up as 3 bow in one - Maxpoint, Exomag Lite (150 lbs), and Exomag (200 lbs). I currently have the light limbs installed for shooting targets in the back yard.

Riggs, I can't say if one is inferior or not as I have only seen the ads and the Fred Bear web site. from lookin at the pics on the inside back page of Horizontal Bowhunter magazine you can see how similar they are, same prod, same rail and same trigger. It also has the same draw weight and no let off cams. Just has a new stock design.

The Fred Bear and PSE crossbows look like they share the same rail...and probably the same trigger. The inexpensive price says asian made components like stock, trigger, and rail. But that's just a guess.

Look familiar?

...i would imagine that if you were turning the wheel bow into a recurve, those parts could be purchased as a "package"...
