Got The Fiery Phoenix Today

Post by Grizzly »

Well, told the wife we would go to Lee Valley to get some greenhouse accessories for her. While we are here why don't we swing over to Archer's Nook and JUST LOOK at what they got  Well, left there with a Phoenix all assembled with a scope mounted while I waited. :D They let me try whatever bow I wanted before purchasing also. The new Parker looked nice and a Ten-Point there also, but I wanted the simplicity and the proven reliability of the Excalibur. Can't wait till tomorrow to try her out, and for turkey season to start. Thanks to all on this board for helping me decide on which bow to purchase and I am sure to be asking more questions in the future.
P.S. Also got the cocking aid, don't know if this is good or not as wife can cock it that much easier and really likes the size of this bow. Whoever is up first in the morning gets the phoenix. (so she say's). May just hide the aid on her, but she could probably cock it without if she really wanted to. Only 5'2" and tiny but as they say, dynamite comes in small packages. Bales hay with the rest of the boys and still can throw 100 lb bag of feed over shoulder and haul er' into the barn.

just dont get too anxious and shoot it where you shouldnt. last year dad bought a new tenpoint and couldnt wait to goto a field. setup a target in our 25yard long backyard to zero the scope....

not gonna get into detail but now there is 4 broadhead holes in the fence    lol.

im debating on a used one or go right to an exomax....

Thanks for the congrat's guy's. Hey there Canadianhunter, I shouldn't have a problem with finding a place to practice as my closest neighbour is quarter mile away and we are surrounded by bush and field's (approx. 500 acres bush and 400 acres fields).
GaryL: How many crossbow's can one have and still get away with convincing the wife they are just spares? You, above anyone on this forum, should know the answer to this one

Yeah I already know about the magtips and the fast flite as I have been told by wife that's what is going on her Wolverine.
Took bow out today and WOW  What a beaut. Sure glad I took everyones warning to heart and only took one shot then retrieved bolt from target before shooting another. Can see how it could get expensive if not.
Thanks to Digger also on his post on targets. I got the Yellow Hammer and it works incredibly well, so easy to pull bolts out of.
Thanks again to everyone on this forum and hope to meet some of you this year, in person.
