Very cool.

Last week a hawk grabbed a squirrel and was munching down in a tree outside a window at work. It was cool to watch and even more entertaining to hear all the comments. Full range from "cool" to "gross".

Gary, these birds a very cool to watch. I have seen them catch small critters but never seem to get a pic of them in action.

Nice Pics.

My guess would be a male sharp-shinned or maybe a male coopers.

They are very similar except for size. Can't tell size from the pics, but the sharp-shinned is the smaller one.

The Cooper's and Sharp-shinned are very similar and can be hard to identify. Here's a link that has some good info, and might help in figuring out which one you're looking at:
