What are the major differences between the Barnett Revolution and the Revolution XS, and are the differences worth $100.00 .

If you wish to stick to compound crossbows, may I suggest a Tenpoint Titan. It's Tenpoint's entry level bow. It does not have the speed rating (280) that the Revolution has, but I hope you're not basing your purchase on just advertised speed. The package (scope, quiver) retails for about $580.00, without the goodies $400.00. I've only handled an Excalibur at a shop, so I can't really comment on them. Excalibur and Tenpoint seem to be top of food chain, and for good reason. Quality in workmanship and components is second to none.

I'll second doegirl's motion.

Recurve? - No doubt about it - Excalibur..

Compound? - TenPoint

That TenPoint Titan speed of 280 is with a 2219 and that combo does generate some serious KE.
