New member, and I took the leap

Post by Curdog »

Hello Ive been reading this board for a while. I have been trying to decide which brand crossbow to buy. After reading these posts and calling a few dealers. I decided, yesterday, I ordered an Exomax and the scope package. Im sure I will be happy with my purchase. I dont know her name, but I spoke a very nice lady at the Excalibur site, and she told me all I needed to know. Thanks to her and everyone on this board. I plan to be ready by Tennessee bow season.

Welcome to the Excalibur forum.

Sure glad you guys get a choice down there.

Question - can you use your crossbow in the Tennessee portion of Land Between the Lakes?

I haven't hunted down there in eons, but I might put in for it if I can use my crossbow there.

Ummm. Not to kill the good vibes, but is a 225lb crossbow legal to use in Tennessee? It's not in Ohio. Please don't kill the messenger, but I would double check to be sure...

Poundage

Post by Curdog »

doegirl, we dont have a max poundage for crossbows, we cant use posion, chemicals or barbs on our arrows, and broadheads have to be of the sharpened type, so no field points for big game.

Crossbows are legal on the TN side of LBL (as was posted by someone on TNdeer that called them).

That is good..

Maybe I can drive down the Trace with a big ol Tennessee buck strapped on the truck along with my crossbow and say Howdy to all the KY bowhunters on the KY side. ;)
