Almost Time for Bear

Post by Big John »

I'm going up to my place this weekend in wmu 40, clear an area for Bear
and do some fishing. Bear starts Aug. 15, I stalk with Gun and tree stand with Exmag. Anyone else going up for Bear this season?

I'm really getting the jitters for Hunting, if I do any more practice I'll puke! :) :)

I noticed you said both of you are coming up to hunt. That means you need an "out fitter", who you got?
Another thing is, if you want a little competition, are we guns or Xbows?
Since I will have two tags, I will shoot for the big one with Xbow, and my second with gun.
I know a couple of good outfitters, but they are a little farther North than Huntsville.

I don't have anywhere to hunt bears.... so I probably won't be bear hunting. We do have bears at our deer/moose/bear camp.... We just shoot a bear if it comes along during the deer or moose seasons....

John , We hunt with Bucklake outfitters, http://www.bucklakeoutfitters.com/

Pete Allen and Ron Stinson , both guys are top notch and really know bears...and deer hunting.
We wont be taking any firearms at all and really arent looking for competition...just a fun bear hunt. I was lucky getting a crack at a bear this size. I will probably take the first decent legal bear that gives me the shot i want. Its Kents first bear hunt, ive got one already so i would rather see him have a good time and harvest a nice bear.

Mark :

I hope you's have a great time, and get some good bear! :)

It's always nice to see someone get their first New animal, especially Bear!

The competition I speak of is only friendly, as I can Hunt them for 2 1/2 month's. So I can be very choosey.

Good luck to both, stay safe! :)

JOHN , you are very lucky to have a second and third big game animal to hunt , i wish we did. It would be nice to hunt them for 2 months , but we get one week. I hope we get to see some moose while we are there, we didnt last year. We did see moose sign and some timber wolves and coyotes.

good luck to you as well and post some pics , i hope to!!!!!!!!
