10 Point problems

Post by LC Bowhunter »

I just bought a QX-4, I cannot get the quik disconnect quiver to tigthen up.It will tighten but still has a 1/4 inch wiggly when tightened all the way down. More importantly the string does not touch the shooting rail. I can slide a penny between the rail and string. This is not normal is it. I can use any help....thanks LC

Sounds like ya missing a washer for the quiver mount..as for the string not touching the rail, this could be good as less string wear.. If it's new I would contact TenPoint or return it to the place ya purchased it from for a replacement.... :D

That is not normal LC, contact tenpoint immediatly and I would not shoot it until you do so. All track crossbows needs the string to have a little down force on the track to prevent the string to "jump" over the bolt resulting in a dry fire.

Thats true too some degree, However the string would have to be 1/4" or higher to get a string jump. If the string is only about a 16th inch off the track their would not be a problem at all. There are a couple on the forum that have Excaliburs that the string don't ride the rail tight and they shoot fine with very little string wear on the serving.

However as its NEW and should not be like that I would return it :!:

LC, Sounds like GaryL is right about the washers missing on the quiver, the string should'nt have any daylight in between the rail, just had mine tuned at the plant in Sufffield, and the string although rides freely on the rail i cannot slip a penny between, there good people they'll fix it for ya, Speedball.................. :D :D

LC, If you had to put your tenpoint together yourself as most come that way, I would say look at your riser and rail connection as it reads like you do not have your riser all the way down on your rail. Take a close look and make sure the riser is seated all the way down against the rail where it bolts on. If it is I would sure return it.... :D
