serving replacement

Post by Rickey »

I have a serving jig but don't know how to anchor to start and finish. There anywhere I can see a pic or get directions??

I have completed the re-nocking of 3 dozen bolts and the blow drier worked best for me. If the old nock comes apart screw a small screw in the nock and reheat...then put it out with pliers.

By the way..thanks for all your help!!! This is a great forum.

Rickey:

When I build custom Fishing rods, The technique used to start and finish the winding (serving) is the same. I use a piece of monofiliment about a foot long with a loop tied on the end where you will wrap the serving over. It is very hard to say the rest without showing you. If you want to here how to do this in person P.M. me and I will give you my phone number and I can talk you thruogh it the first time. Or someone else can tell you how. My way will work tight and stay tight keeping the wraps tight together.

Thank you Digger :

That is very close to what I was going to relate to him, with one small deviation. The drawings save alot of explaining. :)

The loop techniques works great, but I do it by "back-wrapping".
