I had a horton crossbow and then started reading this forum and then I had to have an excalibur so I got an exocet, I really like that crossbow, then the exomax came out and I jumped on the bandwagon and got one. Then I found out I could switch risers which I did, now I have a exomag and a exocet 200. If I ever wanted to go moose hunting I would just have to switch back and I would have my exomax back. Gotta love these excaliburs.

The only xbow I have had is an exomax... I love it and wouldn't trade it for any thing. I'm 53 and use a cocking (string) aid and shoot 20 to 30 time at each practice. My only problem is stopping the bolt :D at 30yrds it goes half way the fletching in a 3D target and goes past the fletching in the "Block" :?:
Shoot straight and know your target.
To good hunting and good friends!!

I have one max and one exocet 175. Happy with both of them. I use much more my exocet 175. But when I need to feel the power in hands, I shoot my max and feel gooooood!

What kind of maintenance a exomax will require more than any other excalibur bow? I always check the bolts, strings, limbs of my excal bows. In what of these or another items the max require more attention?

gad, in reality no more then any other Excalibur. However on the Exomax one must pay close attention to the string and serving as the extra 25lb draw weight do get a little rough on string/serving wear.... :D compared to the other Excalibur models.... :D

String and serving are really in heavy work with the max.

:D I also have had only one EXCALIBUR and it is the MAX. I have a back and shoulder problem which got me a permit to use an x-bow for hunting in a few states and I have no problem cocking it 10 or 15 times with a rope cocker . It is very powerful and deadly, and is far better than the barnet I had before. If you can handel it than it is a perfect crossbow for you if not drop down in poundage , but do stay with an EXCALIBUR

I own the Exomax and at 52 years of age I wish this unit came out earlier in life. Once you have messed with other crossbows you will appreciate the power of an Exomax and the accuracy. Other bows were just as hard to string and cock and nowhere near as accurate.

Yes this is a fine tuned machine and I can not wait to use it deer hunting.

I purchased the ExoMax as a hunting tool. I do not go to 3D shoots or anything. With the rope cocking aid, it is not difficult to cock.

This is my second year with it and I couldn't be happier.

The only Excalibur I have (so far) is a Max, and I'm very happy with it. The only maintenance so far is waxing the string & serving. although the serving is getting a bit worn after approx 200 shots. I'll need to learn to serve sometime soon. But if that's all I need to do, so what... It's one heck of a machine! I'm happy with the trigger, I get a very flat trajectory, 2" groups out to 50 yds with a rest, and it's not too hard to cock with a rope... I will probably get another xbow someday, but I don't see getting rid of my Max!

when the term "serving" is used does that refer to the rail?

The center of the string crossing the rail ( the light section) is the serving and should be waxed every thirty or so shots.
